SAN ANTONIO, TX, April 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- SideRACK.net, a new designer apparel site specializing in emerging talent introduces their customers to Lara Miller, a fashion forward and green eco Designer.
By showcasing eco designer Lara Miller for the month of April, they are sending a message that style and sustainability go hand and hand. With a site welcoming innovative ways to shop, such as offering regular purchasing as well as custom orders, and selling both designer and vintage apparel, it only seems appropriate to offer their customers yet another creative twist on fashion.
Founder and CEO of sideRACK.net Cristina Montesinos was more than elated to add Miller to the designer index.
"I like to believe that our site attracts individuals who not only seek out trendy clothes, but also love the story behind the product. Our customers like to feel that they are supporting a dream, a vision, or (in Lara Miller's case,) a true passion. I feel that Lara Miller saw her passion early on in her career and made it her mission to create eco-friendly pieces without sacrificing great fashion."
After scanning through the sideRACK merchandise chosen from Miller's Spring/Summer Collections, it becomes quite evident that the days of burlap-like hemp fabrics and hippie silhouettes are a thing of the eco-past. With the growing awareness of organic products it is only fair to say that technology paired with new resources has evolved the eco-fashion world for the better, and Lara Miller seems to be a poster child for this. She extensively seeks out fabrics using only low-impact reactive dyes and as minimal chemicals and water as possible. Her fabrics include SKAL certified organic cotton, hemp, vegan ahimsa peace silk, organic wool, linen, lyocell, flax and soy fibers, hand-loomed bamboo, and recycled organic cotton. All fabrics then go on to be made into garments right in her hometown of Chicago. But she doesn't just stop at the products. Every element of her company is assessed to ensure that every measure is being taken to reduce their carbon footprint. Using recycled craft paper for patterns, donating office paper to a paper making teacher at a local college, and using only organic products for hangtags/labels are just a few examples of how this company helps to positively impact the environment.
