BURR RIDGE, IL, September 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mac Duggal is honored to announce that original designs were worn by Miss India, Vasuki Sunkavalli and Miss Sweden, Ronnia Fornstedt, during the evening gown competition of the Miss Universe Pageant.
The Miss Universe 2012 pageant was recently broadcast live on NBC TV on and featured contestants in their Mac Duggal creations.
Fashion designer Mac Duggal was born on May 23, 1960 in New Delhi, India. Mac always had the desire to become a successful entrepreneur. As a young man he developed a passion for fashion, often spending countless days and nights sketching and drawing women's evening wear. Being proud of his cultural heritage, he expressed this through fabrics and colors that are hot and spicy like the food of his homeland.
Arriving in the United States at the age of 23, Mac's first design was an A-line ballgown with tulle on the outside and hand painted subtle stars in the lining. He called it the "wish upon a star gown" and luckily, instantly, it was a huge success and the silhouette is still a best selling classic today.
MacDuggal designs have become a staple on the pageant circuit, including Miss Universe, Miss USA, Miss America, Miss World and more. Recently, other designers were shocked when the always competitive and nationally televised Miss Costa Rica pageant featured the entire top ten finalists wearing Mac Duggal evening gowns. In addition, Mac Duggal recently scored major reviews for impressive gowns that took the stage at Donald Trump's Miss USA pageant on NBC, including the highest evening gown winner. The gown was worn by Miss Colorado USA and second runner-up to the title.
His success has continued over the past 25 years. Mac's designs have been worn by celebrities and socialites in television, movies, pageants and the music industry. Today MacDuggal designs are seen globally and are breaking all records. The collection is being showcased in better specialty and bridal stores all over the world.
The designer currently resides in the Chicagoland area and is happily married to his wife, Bubbly, of 25 years. They have two children, daughter Ieena, who is currently studying at Parsons the New School of Design, and son Yuvraj, who is a high school student.
